Terramaxka - Street Organ

The Terramaxka was a popular instrument in the Maltese Islands in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These street organs, as popularly known in English, dates back to 1929 and were originally imported from European countries such as France and Switzerland.


I was recently pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the site of this colourful and lively terramaxka at the Valletta entrance with its nostalgic music which often enlightened us as kids back in the 50s. You can visit the website http://www.terramaxka.com/.
